Since its establishment, the Ashram has been running an organic cow dairy which produces pure and fresh milk products including yoghurt, ghee, and paneer.
The milk is consumed at the Ashram; any extra is sold to customers in Kathmandu.
Apart from the milk, the dairy also serves as a source of manure for our organic garden. The surplus cow dung is used to produce biogas, which in turn is used to cook food.
The Kathmandu center has cow dairy with 60 cows, while the branch in Terai and Gulmi have 150 and 10 cows respectively.
The Ashram dairy is recognized by Dairy Cattle Improvement Program, Nepal, as one of the finest in the country, due to the pure and unadulterated milk produced here as well as the nurturing of the cows.
